The Nintendo Gamecube

My Nintendo party console shrine

I thought this console was cool. Always heard of it but as a kid, I did not want anything on it enough to even consider asking for one. We had Playstation stuff but I was still curious.

During my game collecting goblin phase, it's games were everywhere as many had got rid of them. It was prime time to scoop up a gamecube especially if you didn't wanna spend a lot of money on one. It was a good combination of high supply and no demand in my area. The backwards combatibility of the Wii also led to troves of actual gamecubes everywhere.

For someone like me it was a perfect storm.

It was also a time where many friends visited at once. This being the only console that could support many friends at once, and the before mentioned constant stream of new (to me) games it was my main console at the time. At most, nine people would be around and Smash Tornements and endless Mario Party 5 save files were a staple. I only beat Pikmin 2 because I had another person with me. Rogue Squadron was so much more chaotic with another player. Two Co-op campaigns, Versus and Jango vs Obi-Wan. All ships return!

There's one game that I would've loved to find, Custom Robo; A four-player arena game where you build robots to fight from preset pieces. I'm unsure if they would've liked it.

The singleplayer exclusives I liked; Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, and Chibi-Robo of course. However the rest could be found elsewhere.
